guest recipe: paleo coconut bread (three ingredients!)

Those who know me would say that I’m a little short on patience. I want to get things done fast, I move fast and I eat fast. It’s something I’m working on – I have to consciously remind myself that there’s no rush to do things.

My lack of patience is also probably why I tend to make things that are either low on fuss, done in a relatively short amount of time, or with few ingredients – which is why this three-ingredient recipe instantly caught my eye. Yep, you read that right: three ingredients! It’s as easy as making a cup of tea. Seriously.

raw chocolate velvet smoothie

Who needs to buy a chocolate milkshake, thickshake or ice-cream drink concoction when this healthy smoothie tastes SO MUCH better and it’s good for you (you’ll be satisfying your chocolate craving while sneaking in some veggie goodness thanks to the baby spinach. Plus, blending the chia seeds makes them more easily absorbed in the body).

not another chocolate smoothie

I thought I’d write a quick post on this hugely popular pic I posted up on Instagram recently. If you’ve been reading my posts long enough (thank you! x), you’ll know it’s no secret that I love raw cacao. I can’t get enough it. It’s run by Kate Troup, Aussie naturopath and nutritionist of 20 years who believes that no supplements, drugs or wishful thinking is going to make you feel good if you’re not eating good food.

sticky baked pears with cinnamon and nutmeg

Pears are quite easy to overlook. They’re not exactly the sweetest or the most juiciest fruit to eat, nor are they the first thing you’ll want to grab when a craving strikes. But when you bake them, these humble things turn into the most incredible winter warming delights.

raw ‘carrot cake’ bliss balls

I love recipes that sneak a bit of veggie goodness in. This one is one of those delights, but unlike my Raw Velvet Chocolate Smoothie (that disguises the taste of baby spinach) the veggie in this recipe – crunchy, sweet-tasting carrots – is the star attraction.

spiced vanilla and raspberry smoothie

During the colder months, sometimes a green smoothie just doesn’t cut it. Enter the Spiced Vanilla and Raspberry smoothie.

This smoothie is the perfect combination of sweet and spice and, more importantly, while it appears to be naughty, it’s actually oh-so-good for you, thanks to the cinnamon (great for reducing inflammation, bloating and gas) and the raspberries (high in antioxidants, vitamin C, and fibre).

choc-chia ‘brownie’ balls

As you can probably tell from a lot of the recipes from this blog, I love to make healthy versions of naughty treats. Some of which include my 5-Min Choc Avocado Mousse and Raw Coconut, Lime and Strawberry Cheesecake. This recipe is a protein-packed and decadently rich version of your traditional brownie recipe, without refined sugar, gluten and dairy. Just add more or less peanut butter or raw cacao powder depending on how nutty or chocolaty you like your brownies to be! I find that a lot of people who aren’t used to healthy treats need more sweetness so add in some raw honey to suit.
