If there’s one thing I love about healthy food, it’s being able to recreate delicious desserts and smoothies with raw, wholefood, delicious ingredients.
Some of my faves include my Chocolate Mousse Tart and Raw ‘Bounty’ Bar Slice. You wouldn’t really want to go back to the regular versions of these treats because they’re all dairy-free, refined sugar-free, gluten-free and vegan, which means you’re more likely to feel satiated and energised, rather than having to go through a sugar roller-coaster.
Which brings me to the AH-MAZINGNESS which is this Raw Salted Caramel Smoothie I made recently. It’s as close to the decadent, drool-worthy version you can get at a cafe, only it’s bloat-free, guilt-free and all round delicious!
Prep time: 5 minutes
1 large frozen banana
1 1/2 cups almond milk
handful of ice
2-3 medjool dates, pitted (depending on how sweet you want it)
1 pinch of sea salt
1 teaspoon of tahini
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1. Blend all ingredients together in a high speed blender (I use Vitamix).
2. Pour in a large glass jar.
3. Enjoy immediately!
