very chocolatey ‘cherry ripe’ smoothie


Love your Cherry Ripe bar? So do I. This is a healthy smoothie version that tastes exactly like the decadent treat, so much so it tastes-like-dessert… and you can have it for brekky! Bonus: it’s choc full of protein and healthy fats (from the nuts), fibre and phytonutrients (from the baby spinach) and antioxidants (cherries and cacao). Cherries also contain vitamin C and are a good source of soluble fibre called pectin that helps control blood cholesterol levels.

Serves 1

Prep time: 5 mins


1 cup cold water
1 small frozen banana
1 cup baby spinach leaves
1 heaped tbsp raw cacao powder
1/4 cup raw cashews
A handful of ice
1 tbsp of honey or 2 soaked medjool dates
A handful of pitted cherries
A pinch of cinnamon

**Turn it into dessert: replace the spinach leaves with an avocado and remove the water and put less ice. It should be creamy and thick in consistency – just like my 5-Minute Choc-Avocado Mousse!**




Just blend, sip and enjoy!
