cafe review: about life, bondi junction

I can’t get enough of the health food scene in Sydney. But out of all the healthy cafes I’ve tried out so far, I have a soft spot for About Life in Bondi Junction mainly because I randomly stumbled into it after finishing a workout session at Centennial Park and their food just hit the spot.

I ordered their vegetarian lasagne topped with chia seeds which you can order with your choice of salad (they have a massive range including Kale & Carrot, Moroccan Quinoa, Brown Rice and Tamari Almond) and a smoothie. The servings here are really generous and meals are quite reasonably priced at around $15.

Their raw desserts are equally delcious and satisfying as their mains, but I found the servings to be very small (which it probably should be since it’s a treat!) for the price you pay. Having said that, I do love to have their Raspberry Swirl Cheesecake which is gluten-free, dairy-free and refined sugar-free.

This place also has takeaway raw desserts like Cacao and Avocado Mousse, Raw Tiramisu and various types of bliss balls. And if you want to enjoy their cafe meals at home, you can buy some of their menu meals, like the lasagne, from their wholefoods marketplace next door.

I have yet to come for breakfast, but their menu is bursting with superfood goodness. Just reading the items such as Almond Hotcakes with Raw Chia Jam, Chia and Blueberry Pancakes, Breakfast Pots with Coconut and Chia Granola, as well as Paleo Banana Bread is enough to make you salivate!

Even if you aren’t close to Bondi Junction it’s definitely worth going. It’s only a five minute walk away from the station and you’ll even pass by the Paleo Cafe if you’re a health food freak and want to check that out, too!

Much love,
