spiced vanilla and raspberry smoothie

During the colder months, sometimes a green smoothie just doesn’t cut it. Enter the Spiced Vanilla and Raspberry smoothie.

This smoothie is the perfect combination of sweet and spice and, more importantly, while it appears to be naughty, it’s actually oh-so-good for you, thanks to the cinnamon (great for reducing inflammation, bloating and gas) and the raspberries (high in antioxidants, vitamin C, and fibre).

It’s a fruity take on an iced chai latte that is unbelievably refined sugar-free, dairy free and vegan. Add some protein-rich chia seeds to fill you up if you’re having it for brekkie.

Serves 2

Prep time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1/2 tray ice-cubes
1 frozen banana
1/2 punnet raspberries
3 soaked medjool dates
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ pinch nutmeg
1 tbsp crushed walnuts

Method:

1. Blend all ingredients together until smooth and creamy.
2. Serve immediately with a dusting of cinnamon on top!
